Potsdam Speeding Ticket / Traffic Violation Attorney

Attorney Randall Kehoe established his law practice over 20 years ago and has been representing clients in local traffic courts throughout Upstate New York to this day. Our legal services extend to the Potsdam Town and Potsdam Village courts for motorists charged with traffic violations, some of the most common of which include Speeding (1180), traffic control violations, red lights, cell phone & mobile device violations, 1144 A ("Move Over" law), and suspended licenses. Even if your license has been suspended or is facing an impending suspension for Failure to Answer Summons or Failure to Pay a Fine, we can help. Our years of practical experience dealing with traffic courts and local policy can help you resolve your case as easily and inexpensively as possible. We save our clients the trouble of having to appear in court and hundreds of dollars in legal fees, court fines, and special state assessment fees (like the Driver Responsibility Assessment Fee). Our office has also been highly successful in helping clients reduce charges to less or no points at all, helping to keep auto insurance rates at a minimum and maintain driving privileges. To discuss your case in detail with a member of our staff, feel free to reach us by phone or email using the "Get Started Now" form provided to the right. To best assist you, please have a copy of your ticket and/or any other documents you have received from the court regarding your case available.

Answering Your Ticket

All tickets in New York state must be "answered" in a timely manner by returning the original ticket back to the court in person or by mail by the date indicated on the ticket with a plea of "Guilty" or "Not Guilty". Failing to answer your ticket can result in a suspended license and other legal complications and fines. If your license has already been suspended for Failure to Answer Summons or Failure to Pay a Fine, we can still help you but you will likely have to pay a Lift Suspension fee to the court before we can proceed. Entering a plea of "Guilty" will make you responsible for any points, fines, and other penalties applicable to the original charge. Pleading "Not Guilty" will give you or your attorney the opportunity to schedule a pretrial conference to discuss a reduction of your charges or schedule the matter for trial. In either case, you will not have a fine to pay until the court sends you a Fine Notice with the final resolution and fine amount. Be sure that you receive mail at the address listed on your driver's license, as the court will send all notification to that address. To make any address changes, contact your local DMV.
